Trophy hunters by pulling the trigger are obviously devoid of self worth and confidence. Do they really think that by killing the largest and the most magnificence of a specie and then hanging it’s head on a wall that the traits and strengths of these magnificent creatures reflects positively on them?
Reality is if anyone is so inclined and has the money, the patience and the right guide it’s a no brainer, you can kill anything that you want. No strength of character required.
Unfortunately by doing this mindless act they do not just kill one animal, but depleted the future gene pool of the whole herd. By killing the strongest and most fully matured animals they destroy the survival genes that should be passed on to future generations. If trophy hunters want to experience a meaningful challenge of achievement and self worth they should try volunteering at a local animal shelter or assist people that are in need.
Believe it or not this is an issue right here on Vancouver Island. Bear carcases are far too often found here with their heads and paws cut off. The heads to be mounted, sold and hung on somebody’s wall; the paws are turned into ashtrays. Plus some bears are found with just their gall bladders removed, again to be sold and turned into mystic potions for human consumption. Be aware.
